For a long time I’ve been contemplating this move. In fact, probably since the first month that I started DUSTN. I started the blog to be a casual experiment, and it quickly became much, much more.

welcome to

I originally intended to just post once a week about random life lessons that God was teaching me in my journey. Before I knew what hit me, I caught the blogging bug. I think it’s John Saddington’s fault. Before long, I had some conversation happening in the comments, a community started to form, and I began to want to give more an more value to those who were reading.

So, why the move?

I’m glad you asked.

The biggest reason for the change, is the reason I started the blog in the first place– you. My readers are the reason this blog exists, and I’m constantly looking for ways to better my readers experience. The simple fact was that my former web address– ‘’ — was just too complicated.

Firstly, not many people use ‘.us‘, so it’s not easy to remember. Secondly, having the extra ‘/blog’ within the title, further complicated the rememberability of my domain. As if making you remember to spell ‘dustin’ without the ‘i’ wasn’t hard enough, I made you go through all that other highly complicated mumbo-jumbo in order to get to my site. Not cool, Dustin.

Maybe I’m over-thinking it, and you didn’t even notice. Well, that just shows you how much I think about making things better for you, the reader. I obsess over the tiny details because I love you. 😀

So one night as I was rolling this idea around in my head, I decided to see if the domain “” was available to purchase. The ‘.tv‘ domains can be a bit pricey. I stumbled across a site that was offering it for $11. Done deal. I had always liked the idea of a ‘.tv‘ domain name, and now I had one!

After some research, and planning, I decided this month was the month to move.

What to expect.

You can expect the same level of meticulous, OCD attention to quality content, and aesthetic excellence. You can also expect to get a more frequent and focused stream of content in the realm of Christianity, Creativity, and Social Media. I will also be trying to post more videos (being that the is a ‘.tv‘ address after all).

Over the next few days, I’ll be making all of the redirects so that all of the content on the old site will redirect to this site. That way, if you have any posts bookmarked, or linked to, it will just redirect back to the post on this address. Easy right!?

Help me “break-in” the new site!

Being that this domain is new there are a couple things you can do to help me break it in properly.

Firstly, share some of your favorite posts! Since the blog posts on here were originally housed elsewhere, they could really use some love in the area of sharing. I managed to migrate most of the comments with the posts, but the sharer bars have yet to be broken in. So if you don’t mind, use the sharing options to the left of this post to Tweet, Like, Stumble, +1 (my new favorite), or Share (other)! That would be awesome!

Secondly, if you were subscribed to the old site via email, or RSS, please subscribe to this sites email and RSS feed.

Lastly, but not leastly.

Thank you so much for reading. It really means a lot to me, and I hope to repay you by adding value to your life in whichever capacity God allows me.

Sweet! I guess I am the first commenter on the first post for this new site?!

So will the old address forward to this one?

PS- I like this URL way better!

Unfortunately, some people have already discovered the new site before I announced it (it’s been live for over a week). But you are the first to comment on this particular post!

And the old addresses will (as of 2min ago)now forward to the same posts on this address (i.e. “” will now forward to “” )

PS- I like this URL way better too!

I don’t know exactly why, but it just sounds cooler. And it also will push me to do more video content. I have a particular addition to my strategy having to do with video.

I like the move. It is always fun to be working on something new. I just relaunched on my newish domain. I decided to go completely from scratch though. It has been fun so far.
