This week’s rundown is going to be more action-packed than ever! With technical issues abounding, iPhone 5′s releasing into the wild, and some fresh inspriation for you to chew on– this will probably be the most fun weekly rundown yet!
Wait, where’s the video?
Well this past week seems to have been riddled with tecnical difficulties. I had recorded a video for this weeks rundown, but unfortunately there were tecnical issues that prevented me from capturing it fully. Sorry about that. I know how much you love staring at my unshaven face each week, so I’ll try harder next week.
This was a bit more frustrating due to the fact that I had some techncal issues on Saturday for the Typography Event I had scheduled. I didn’t get to do the On Air Hangout like I had hoped so because of that I don’t have a recording. It was a bummer– but a great learning experience at the same time. It was definitely a reinforcement for how I have handled crisis’ in the past:
When life hands you lemons, squeeze them suckers into a blender with some Red Bull and ice then make something awesome out of it!
Well that’s what I did. I’ll also be taking some time this week to record the process I outlined for those who attended the Hangout. Stay tuned.
iPhone 5 has arrived!
Apple released the iPhone 5 on Friday and thousands of people camped out at retail stores all over the U.S.! I wasn’t one of those people. But kudos to them for their dedication! I’ll be waiting to upgrade to iPhone 5 in mid-October. There’s 2 reasons for this:
- I wanted to wait and see if this one would have any bugs. I didn’t want to be affected by another “Antennagate” scandal.
- My contract with AT&T ends in mid-October, and I’m considering switching to Verizon.
I loved Verizon when I was with them, but I switched to AT&T because at the time they were the only ones with iPhone. Now that my contract is up, I am thinking about going back over. What has your experience been with the two companies? Which would you recommend? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.
Weekly Inspiration
I wanted to start including some sources of inspiration that I gather throughout the week. It will be anything from productivity, devotionals, tips/tricks, or just plain fun stuff. I couldn’t think of a better way to start than with this:
If you haven’t seen this video before today– where have you been?! This video has broken a world record for going viral and most Korean’s are baffled at it’s success. I find myself doing the dance at random points throughout the day– can you blame me?
Princess Bride?
Mashable just did a Princess Bride Tribue– it’s pretty epic.
Revisiting an old post
I got a comment this morning on one of my old blog posts titled “Don’t Swallow The Fly“. I went back to revisited it and got the idea to update the post image for it. Here’s what I came up with:
I thought it was pretty clever. But I am a bit bias.
Story 2012
Story 2012 took place last week. In case you don’t know what that is, it’s a conference for Christian creatives that happens every year. I haven’t had the chance to attend one yet, but I was following along the tweets from the event. I was really inspired just reading what people were tweeting about it! I really hope to go next year.
In the meantime, one of the bloggers I have a ton of respect for, Justin Wise, live-blogged his conference notes. There is some absolute gold in there to dig through! He even went as far as creating a booklet in collaboration with some others who attended the conference. You can check it out here.
R12 is getting close!
As the R12 conference gets closer and closer I am swarming with ideas on how I’m going to cover the event. I can’t wait to share some of it with you in future posts so you can follow along with me while I’m there.
This concludes this week’s rundown! I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

I’ve had AT&T, and never had any major problems with their service. Now that I’m upgrading to the Galaxy S3, I’m debating between AT&T and Verizon.
So you’re in the same boat as me. Where are you leaning towards? Why?
I have had Verizon for a while, and it’s not bad, as long as you never need to call customer service… The customer service is terrible… I just upgraded and got the iPhone 4s as my first iPhone so far… I’m a little behind the curve, but I’m loving it now that I’m part of the team
Congrats Seth! When I was with Verizon before, their customer service wasn’t too bad… maybe things have changed. AT&T has been good– just wait times are not great.
I’ve had both Dustin and I like both. My problem with AT&T has always been connections and lost calls where as Verizon has been better at that. Customer service though at Verizon s****ks. I really like AT&T for that and they are willing to listen in most cases about dropped calls or poor connections and in the past have given me credit on a bill or two. Verizon never did that.
As always thanks for your round-ups and everything else. Great blog that I enjoy following.
Thanks for the feedback Mark-John! I wonder if the better reliability for Verizon is a good trade off for bad Customer Service. Maybe they don’t need the customer service to be as good if there’s less service issues…?
Can has prize?
