our first year of marriage

This past Sunday was our 1 year anniversary. It sounds cliche, but time really does fly. In mine and Dustin’s first year of marriage I have learned quite a few things. In this post (my first blog post ever) I want to share the three biggest things I’ve learned.

It has been a difficult, yet rewarding process discovering that I’m really selfish, I can’t expect Dustin to know what I’m thinking, and marriage is all about teamwork. These are all things that I knew (to some degree) but once I experienced them, it was a whole different story. Allow me to break them down for you…

I love movies. I also love God’s word, the Bible. And I really love when I manage to discover an applicable Biblical analogy or lesson out of a movie.

welcome to dustn.tv

For a long time I’ve been contemplating this move. In fact, probably since the first month that I started DUSTN. I started the blog to be a casual experiment, and it quickly became much, much more.

Databases, gone. Comments, gone. A couple test sites, and files that I had stored on the same server, gone. The only thing that seemed to remain was my top-level landing page.

Apparently, I wasn’t the only one to notice, because I had already had multiple DM’s on Twitter telling me that my sites were down. Naturally, I went light-speed into panic-mode.

Early this morning, I realized that today was Earth Day. I noticed this because Starbucks is running an Earth Day promotion where you can get FREE COFFEE! You know I’m all about that! And as exciting as that is for a Starbucks addict like me, there’s another reason today is extremely significant. What I’m speaking of is the day of the death of my savior Jesus Christ.

2,000 years ago, today wasn't so good, and the earth felt it...

Today the world celebrates Earth day. I think it’s kind of funny that today, Earth Day and Good Friday are one in the same. As I sat and thought about it, it really became more ironic, but not surprising. You see, the world does everything it can to try and distract us from God. Today, however, the distraction is exactly the reason Jesus did what he did 2,000 years ago. Because of Good Friday, the earth has never been the same.
