Think Big. Work Hard. Push Limits. Never Stop.

We creatives will often get caught up in the day-to-day. Repetitive tasks, endless to-do lists, and lots of generally un-fun things. It’s easy to get caught up in the rut of a daily grind, and it’s no fun when you’re there.

Sometimes you just need to take a step back and see the bigger picture of what you’re creating. You’re not creating a daily set of work– you’re creating a life-time of significance.

Whether you know it or not, you’re creative work is important. What you are doing matters. It is making an impact somewhere with someone, and that is big.

So what if your next thing doesn’t get 1 Million views? Go create another thing. And another. And another.

As a creative, it’s hard to stay motivated, and I hope that today this post helps to kick you in the pants a little bit. Do your fellow creatives a favor, and share this image! Everybody needs a kick in the pants every now and again.

So don’t let the daily grind wear you down. Get the wind back in your sails by reminding yourself it’s not just about today– it’s about every day. Moving forward with what you’re passionate about. Pushing past creative blocks and doing the creative work you were built for.

What is the next thing you’re working on? Link it (if possible) in the comments below, or just tell me about it!

Hey Dustin! It was good chatting to you today on periscope. This is a great article. I’m working on a few things at the moment. Ive still got a full time job but on the side I’ve got my photography business InaJPhotography.com trying to get more clients and also marketing my business on social media to gain clients. I have also recently started a blog with 2 of my good friends in London and Jakarta. The blog is chictales.com. It’s great coz we can reach readers internationally since we are in 3 different countries. My goal is trying to grow both my business and my blog.

    Dustin,

As always the great motivator and mentor to many including me. Your posts are always inspiring for anyone not just the creatives. More people should have your attitude about living.

Thanks for being you and the mentor I look up too.

Great post, even for non-creatives. The sun doesn’t shine on our professional lives every day. Even every week. At those times, you’re right, you do need to take a step back and look at what the grand purpose of your efforts is.
