This weeks Monday Monologue recaps last weeks exciting developments. Additionally I outline this coming weeks plans.

Last Week Recap

The very first piece of Limited Edition dustn.tv swag was released! After introducing what #JesusSwagger was the week before, I unveiled the Official #JesusSwagger t-shirt. It will only be available to order for the next 2 weeks (ending Saturday, July 21st). If you haven’t seen it yet, check it out here.

I also took some time to take a lot of my readers’ feedback in regard to my blog redesign. Many readers were expressing that the new font I was using was difficult to read, and didn’t really look good. This was perplexing to me because I hand picked that font and on my devices (all Apple made) it looked beautiful! Alas, I did some testing on Windows devices as well as a wide range of screen resolutions to discover that you were right about the font.

After discovering this I immediately switched back to the always beautiful Helvetica as the dominant font. It is, after all, every designers favorite font. :D

The Week To Come

This week I’m excited to start a series of posts on blog design. I will be using my own blog as a living example of best practices, tips, tricks, and tools to help even the least experienced blogger or designer make the most out of his/her site.

I’ll also be publishing the first of my candid thoughts about working in ministry– the things I couldn’t say while working at a church. Warning: this will end up ruffling some feathers. And hopefully, it will ruffle them enough to cause some God-inspired change. We’ll see.

What are some things you are working on that you’re excited about this week? You can leave a comment by clicking here.

  1. The new font does look a lot nicer to me, did you perhaps choose an Anti-Windows font, one whose purpose is to drive all us Windows users over to macs? ]
I am quite excited about the design series (especially as someone who really doesn’t know that much about design) I am also looking forward to “cresting a hill” at my job and knowing that the next few weeks after this one will be a lot easier.

The font change is most welcome – the old font was incredibly small and difficult to read. It sounds weird that it would look fine on an Apple device running Safari, but not on Windows PCs. Perhaps something to do with how the fonts are rendered by the browser?
