Use Popular Movies To Teach Biblical Truth [Giveaway]

I love movies. I also love God’s word, the Bible. And I really love when I manage to discover an applicable Biblical analogy or lesson out of a movie.

I’ve seen pastors do it before and when it’s done well, the audience never looks at the movie in the same way. It’s almost as if they’ve taken a secular movie and redeemed it for the teaching of God’s word. It’s awesome when done right.

Well, I am very happy to announce the release of an iPhone app that is taking that concept and making accessible to everyone! Check it out:

Clips for iPhone was born out of the desire for the app. It’s not an app built with the idea that there’s a market for this type of product. In his own words, “I wanted the app for myself and my small group leaders; so I made it.” RJ had the vision so he began formulating the database of movies and brainstorming an app that not only had great content, but was extremely beautiful and simple to use. As Clips is launching, RJ is even more excited about the future development of Clips and the features that are being built to make the Clips experience even better.

20110809-120707.jpgYou can find Clips for iPhone in the App Store for $2.99.

Oh, yeah, the subject line says “Giveaway” doesn’t it?

  5. Favorite movie of all time is The Blues Brothers. I even named by dog Elwood..lol. Animal House was my second but I find myself getting sucked into old war movies in the middle of the night like Stalag 17, Von Ryan’s Express and The Great Escape.

    • Haha! Blues Brothers is a funny movie! I don’t think I’ve seen Animal House.

      • Never seen Animal House? The ultimate in what should NOT happen at college that usually does. Well except that most frats don’t build a float out of a 64′ Lincoln and call it the DeathMobile and wreck the homecoming parade. John Belushi in his prime. Toga party anyone? Probably not a movie I would reccomend to anyone in my new circles…lol. But none the less a classic I have enjoyed for many years.

  6. 1. The Dark Knight
    2. Napoleon Dynamite.

  7. Kung-Fu Panda!

  8. I LOVE ALL KARATE KID MOVIES. THIS ARE AWESOME MOVIES TO TEACH BIBLICAL STUDIES.
