You may or may not have noticed it’s been a little over a week since I last posted. On top of missing my Monday Morning Monologue the last two weeks, I haven’t even had the energy or strength to sit down and write. Pretty bad huh? Unfortunately it seems I’ve caught a virus. Even worse, it’s not one of those viruses that Dr. Norton can help me with.
For almost 2 weeks I’ve just been feeling weak, exhausted, nauseous and just plain cruddy. It has really kicked my butt. This is almost foreign to me because I never get sick. I’m having a little trouble dealing with taking a step back from all my extracurriculars. Not being able to work on my side projects is like torture. However, there’s really not much I can do about it but ride it out– according to my doctor.
Maybe God needed me to slow down in order to show me something. Maybe he wants to teach me that my world wont end if I take some time off. Or maybe I was overdue to get away and reflect. Whatever the reason (if any) that I’m having to go through this, I know there is a lesson to be learned. And maybe, just maybe, it will someday turn into a great blog post.
In the meantime, I ask you to pray that God brings me back to health so that I can get back to playing with my wife and son more. If I can manage the strength to play with my son, it’s only for a few minutes before I have to rest. Also, I’d like to get back to building my online empire (haha!) and helping you build yours as well!
Oh and don’t worry– I’ve been assured by my doctor that you cannot catch what I have by reading this blog post.

Sorry Dustin! Maybe this will make you feel better. The other day I heard someone call in their story to a radio station i was listening to.
The woman had been on a road trip with her friend. They stopped to get gas and go to the bathroom. The caller had gone into the stall, sat down, and put her keys on her lap. The keys slid into the toilet. The toilet was the auto-flush kind so she was afraid to stand up for fear her keys would be washed down the toilet.
Panicky, she was able to reach her cell phone and call her friend who was filling the car with gas. The friend came into the bathroom, and although she was a large woman, squeezed under the stall door. She knelt and (unbelievably) reached under her friend, into the toilet for the keys. The caller, on the toilet, had a gag reflex and that point, and threw up on her friend’s head!
I guess the only thing better about this incident is that it was over quickly! Feel better. And don’t lose your keys!

Last time I was sick? Hmmm… Can’t really remember. But I do get to take one of those fun trips to the Dr’s office today. Maybe that’ll make you feel better.

I’ve got a couple of cysts on my body. One of them got infected. Had to have it cut open and drained. Not fun but feels better than having it infected.
Praying you get well soon. A few months ago I was so sick that I missed Cliques for the first time si ce I started leading. It resulted from getting a little sick while we were at Disney then not resting. Instead I pushed through 2 more days of Disney and it kicked my butt for more than 2 weeks. So…REST!
Let your body do it’s thing and be sure to hit the vitamins. Make sure you are staying hydrated and lots of quality time with God

Last time I got sick was when I was on full time church staff, the stress and hours caught up with me. That was over 2 years ago and I haven’t been ill since.
I’m glad you’ve stayed healthy since! By the grace of God I managed to stay pretty healthy when I was on staff at my church.
